It was this week that we noticed that there had been a new topic created by Sky to tell us about something called “Summer Madness”. One could say the staff had been a bit bored again and wanted to have some fun with the community of Bootleggers. Usually they do this by organizing a Russian Roulette, but not this time. No sir, this time they really stuck their heads together to come up with something special in order to celebrate what’s left of the summer. It was Sky who created the topic and explained that there will be bonus events found within features such as the train station, gymnasium, crimes and auto burglary.
It’s been a few days since it began and it has become apparent that you can expect the unexpected. The first day being 1st of August we were able to enjoy halved travel timers which meant you only had to wait 45 minutes for the next train to arrive instead of 1,5 hour. This gave a great advantage for all the hardcore bootleggers among us as well as the people wanting to collect the achievement “No time to waste”, which means you have to do 10 booze runs within 24 hours. This wasn’t the only surprise Sky had in store for us, everyone who logged in the first day received a free 7-day timer to help remind you to keep ranking. Normally this is something only new players receive in their first week of playing Bootleggers. The second day being 2nd of August we were happy to discover that people had left bullets in the trunk of their car resulting in a grand theft auto spree among us gangsters. This came as a real treat and people never stealing cars decided to finally get their freak on and began to hotwire the nearest car they could find. Also this wasn’t the only event which occurred on that day, it was also the hunt on notorious pee wee “CyrilFiggis” who had a hit out on him for $20,000,000. Sky stated in the topic made on the first day of the summer madness that all PI agencies would find the user in exactly the same amount of time, for all users. After many failed attempts it was no less than player “Zzzz” who shot and killed him with 3,778 bullets, thereby claiming the gigantic amount of $20,000,000. It was on the third day of the summer madness that I wrote this article and it wasn’t quite clear what the staff had in store for us today. The first rumors hit the game forum saying “You also found … bullets in your changing room locker”, this meant of course that every time you work out at the gymnasium feature, you would be able to find some bullets in your changing room locker.
So after three days of summer madness we have received a 7-day timer, bullets, bullets and a huge amount of money on the Hitlist. We can’t be sure but maybe there’s a pattern to be found these days. Bootleggers has lost some of his former glory which laid within the kill feature and maybe the staff is trying to provoke to community to polish up their gun and start shooting those bullets they found within the most used features of the game. Only time will tell as there are still 6 days ahead of us and no one knows what to expect.
