This week we may have begun to see the divisions and problems that arise with an ever expanding crew. Many will have seen the forum posts that arose around the strict new proposals within Jailbreak Paradise, attempting to limit their members’ ability to use the kill feature and bring unwanted attention to the crew. We here at the Buzz look into Jailbreak Paradise's problems and discuss why it led to such a divide amongst them, so much so that one particular member even decided to resign over the matter.
Jailbreak Paradise currently stand at 68 members strong and with any large group, there will always be a split in opinion. It came to our attention that inside the Jailbreak Paradise forum there had been a suggestion that only a select few would be entitled to carry a gun. Inevitably this caused a divide amongst players, with many claiming they should be permitted to not only defend themselves but also the crew. On the other hand this action would all but eradicate the problems of the past where an unlicensed shooting spree from one of their members jeopardises all the crew has worked towards. With the actions of RGT still fresh in the minds of many, the Jailbreak Paradise council were obviously keen not to tarnish the ‘peaceful crew’ reputation and therefore also wished to view weekly bullet counts of all its members to clamp down on future aggressive actions. To many this felt like an invasion of their privacy and as such refused this request. One such member was named BlueEagleLuffsFoxie who felt the demands were too much and as such decided to resign from the crew as a result. The Buzz contacted him and asked why these new proposals had left him facing such an ultimatum. He told us: ‘I just didn't really could accept. I decided to finally leave the crew. So, I asked Pat for a kick and we talked about it (the reasons and stuff). He was really sad because I made the leaving decision, and so was I to be honest.’
However, BlueEagleLuffsFoxie's days as a crewless account weren’t to last long as he soon found himself as a member of Enemy of The State, following a recommendation from his friend. His stay was to be short lived however, with the former state don finding himself hard kicked from the crew and shot by crew boss of the time Una. We chased her down and enquired as to why this former Jailbreak Paradise member found himself at the end of such an attack. ‘I've asked Stow and he has informed me that he received intelligence BlueEagleLuffsFoxie was planning on hidding in Enemy of The State until he did a shooting of his own. Now we are not fans of people shooting because they could possibly hit some of our shooters and in worst cases our bankers. On top of that, he lied to us about why he left J.A.I.L. All in all, he deserved to be shot.’ Perhaps the intentions of BlueEagleLuffsFoxie weren’t as innocent as they first seemed; whether these accusations were in fact truthful is another matter that we may never know.
Not long after the death of BlueEagleLuffsFoxie, Moderator Sky introduced a well overdue update that enabled crew bosses to see the bullet count of each of their members. This eradicated the problem of Jailbreak Paradise getting each member to disclose screenshots and put the hotly debated topic to bed. Furthermore, we’ve been informed that Jailbreak Paradise decided not to go ahead with the idea of only a few members being allowed guns. This turn of events rendered the resignation of BlueEagleLuffsFoxie entirely unnecessary and therefore the loss of his state don account could easily have been avoided. Obviously enraged by his poor fortune, BlueEagleLuffsFoxie came out and accused former member Lisa of manipulating Sky to eradicate the problems of Jailbreak Paradise. We are of course informed that these accusations have no substance to them and are entirely unfounded. The update was something Sky had been meaning to do for a while but for whatever reason, simply had not got round to it and had forgotten the idea entirely until Lisa reminded him. We are ensured that had any member of the Bootleggers community come forward with the request, the result would have been the same.
The sorry tale of BlueEagleLuffsFoxie is one that certainly could have been avoided, however, where does the blame truly lie? Jailbreak Paradise are obviously trying their utmost to ensure the crew keeps its peaceful depiction among players however, are they going too far? We’d like to know your opinion and also what your thoughts are on the new update Sky has introduced.
