The Fall of La Onda Riverpenguin

On Friday the 16th of August we witnessed the fall of former crew La Onda. A multitude of accounts were shot in the spree with well over 70 players being eliminated from the game. Among the dead were both crewless accounts and former crew members which begs the question as to the motive behind the attack. The Buzz tracked down the killer for you and discovered the answers.

The attack began at 14:16 Bootleggers time with the death of Adeelov2 and ended over an hour later with 79 more lives left in the attacker’s wake. With almost all the targets being ranked at Boss or higher, the shooter must have consumed a vast amount of resources to conduct his spree. With witness statements flying around the bootleggers’ forums it wasn't long until we discovered that our former state don Twisted was the culprit, shooting in the name of The Family. We contacted him to found out why he felt the need to take down La Onda and whether there was any particular reason for the death of so many crewless accounts. With respect to the wipe of La Onda, he told us ‘There is 1 guy I don’t like, and La Onda don’t want to get rid of him, so they have to go down together then.’ This is not the first time we have witnessed an entire crew having to pay for the actions of a minority of its members, with Jailbreak Paradise being wiped only last week for the rogue actions of one of their players. We went on to question the motive behind the attack as a whole, the crewless accounts included; we were told ‘my main goal was to take down La Onda, and rest was some crewless people I saw as a danger.’ Perhaps there was a reason behind the shooting of these crewless accounts after all, with Twisted eager to solidify his position as state don and reduce the potential threat of shooters.

However, his preventative measures didn’t seem to have worked, with Twisted finding himself dead a matter of hours after his spree along with a few other members that we believe to have belonged to The Family. We narrowed down the shooters to another underground crew that go by the name of Murder Inc. We managed to get an interview with one of their members, OddSocks, who gave us an insight into what seems like a retaliation to the shootings orchestrated by Twisted. We were told that it began because Oddsocks was shot in the attack, however managed to survive. This led to a shooter we believe to be Jezebel who was on hand at the time, to shoot back at members of The Family. With respect to the overall success of the retaliatory strike, he told us ‘we were looking for TF and shot a good couple. Dropped 500k bullets so that’s good. We will be back of course, TF can’t just push us over and not expect us to try and tackle them to the mud as well.’ Perhaps we are seeing the emergence of a new rivalry within the game, with two underground crews battling it out for control. Can we expect to see revenge from The Family? That remains to be seen but I’m sure we will all be interested to see who makes the next move. Before the death of Twisted we asked him whether The Family was intending to shoot within the next few days, with the reply ‘Only if we get a reason.’ Surely the attack by Murder Inc. Would constitute such a reason but whether The Family feels it is something to act upon is another matter.

So then, a very dramatic end to what has been an incredibly eventful week. How do you all feel about the fall of La Onda? Certainly not the biggest crew to have been dropped from the statistics page this week, but will they be missed none the less? Furthermore, what can we make of the attack on The Family? Let us know how you feel about all the events of the past week!
