Several users of this game agree that the current Organized Crime feature is an unfair and shocking system. The community as a whole is guilty of two major crimes in this regard, myself as well, of being elitist and positionist (yes I have had to make up a new word to cope with this condition)! Yet weekly there may be as many as five topics in which several people discuss these issues. So why are they being ignored? Why does our community accept these issues and bypass them?
The first issue, being elitist, is at least understandable. If you are a low rank it takes longer to find an Organized Crime due to the number of players that will only commit one with Boss and above accounts or even Godfather and above. Yet it is understandable that someone who has worked hard to gain ranks on their account should then turn around and only want to join an Organized Crime with someone else who has worked as hard. But how can anyone claim it is fair for a player to be shot and then unable to join an Organized Crime since they are now low ranked, when they did nothing to deserve being shot except do the same things as the high ranked accounts? How many players have died as a high rank? All of us! So why should we look down on someone who is hard on their luck?
The reason is because the Bootleggers community is selfish! A player who is an Legendary Godfather knows they may not have many days to rank up to a Don before they will be shot in the current political system, which states that underground shooters are everywhere and dominate players, preventing most from achieving the high ranks. So they want to rank up fast and in order to achieve this high ranks are needed in their Organized Crime. But surely each and every Legendary Godfather in the community knows they will, at some point, die in a shooting? Being in a crew won’t save them as crews are hit all the time. If you know you will at some point die, why wouldn’t you Organized Crime with the lower ranks? When you do finally kick the bucket it is the users who are low ranked now that will be leading those high ranked Organized Crime’s.
The conclusion to this is that players should, with immediate affect, allow any rank to join their Organized Crime as long as the basic conditions are met. Hitman and above for weapons expert and explosives expert are a fair condition to set to minimize the chances of failure. Scums should be welcome in any Organized Crime as a driver. One day you will need to start over as a scum again and only by helping the current Scums is it fair that you receive the same aid!
The biggest issue, however, is being a positionist. This applies to anyone who sets twenty five percent for all ranks. This applies to anyone who puts a scum driver at fifteen or even ten percent. This even applies to anyone who sets the driver at twenty percent for driving a Beauford. This is what we are all guilty of and, in the opinion of this writer, has to change due to the way inflation has changed the game.
The average price of a Duesenberg is now up to forty thousand dollars. Yet there are many states where you cannot find one for less then eighty or even one hundred thousand dollars. As we all know drivers must pay a flat fee of ten thousand dollars in order to use the car. So it is possible that a scum could be looking at one hundred and ten thousand dollars to join your Organized Crime.
The price to be a leader of an Organized Crime is twenty five thousand dollars. That is flat and never changes. Yet there is some difficulty in finding people to join your Organized Crime. You have to advertise on the classifieds and copy paste a name into a box then click on the invite button. So maybe we should round this up to thirty thousand dollars to compensate you for your work.
A Weapons expert has to pay thirty thousand dollars to join. A simple fee that is flat and never changes. An Explosives expert has to pay thirty six thousand dollars. Another simple flat fee which never changes. Of course it is possible to use an Equipment expert, who only has to pay twenty one thousand dollars, the cheapest of every position. This seems fair that an Equipment expert should receive a lower percentage. So we will ignore this position for the sake of this article because it is very rarely that this position is used.
So we are beginning to see that the Weapons Expert has it the cheapest in order to Organized Crime. So why is it fair that the Weapons Expert receives twenty five percent? Why does the explosives expert receive twenty five percent? Why does the driver, who in every Organized Crime that they use a Duesenberg, also receive twenty five percent? Or sometimes even less than that! If there is a percentage difference the majority of leaders will take that difference for themselves, even though the reason for the difference affects everyone else on their team.
The suggestion which is being made in this article is that the leader should have a look at the price of Duesenburgs in their state, whilst waiting for people to boot mail them, so they can work out what percentage is actually fair for each member to receive. I shall give you an example of how this should actually work. Of course even easier would be a new coded system which has a box to say how much the driver has paid and set the percentages fairly based upon equipment!
If the Duesenberg costs fifty five thousand dollars then the total cost to the driver is sixty five thousand dollars. The total cost of the Organized Crime is one hundred and fifty six thousand dollars. This means that it is only fair that the driver receives forty two percent, that the Explosives expert receives twenty three percent, that the weapons expert receives ninteen percent and that the leader receives sixteen percent based upon cost. If you factor in time then that makes it one hundred and sixty one thousand dollars. This comes down to the driver receiving forty percent, the Explosives expert receives twenty two percent, the Weapons expert receives ninteen percent and the leader receives ninteen percent in order to spread out the payments based upon cost and time.
Of course the question can be asked what if the driver uses their own Duesenberg? Well the answer to that is so what if they do? If they have a car in that state it is still worth as much as the cheapest other Duesenberg in that state because if they listed it for sale and became Weapons expert instead than they would not only gain the profits from the Organized Crime but also the profits from the car sale.
So now we can look at a Beauford. They are only worth five thousand dollars on average, which means the driver is only paying fifteen thousand dollars. This means we need to recalculate the percentage each team member receives as a fair share.
So now we have a total of one hundred and eleven thousand dollars contributed to the Organized Crime (if we class the leader as having thirty thousand dollars in the pot). This equates to the Leader receiving twenty seven percent, the Weapons expert receiving twenty seven percent, the Explosives expert receiving thirty two percent and the driver receiving forteen perent.
So what is the point of this article? Does this give you any new information which you didn’t already have? Or will this change anything in the way Organized Crime’s are lead? Probably not. It is simply a chance to highlight these known issues and offer a possible solution which is fair to everyone in the community and will bring us all closer together if we have a varied percentage system based upon position rather than rank! As always, good luck and happy ranking.
