On Tuesday afternoon there was a minor shooting against The Sacred Empire. A number of members started to be killed over a ten minute period. Though some on the Game Forums wondered whether a group of players were attempting a wipe of one of the biggest crews, it turned out to be a rouge shooter, simply trying to put some action into the game.
We managed to exchange messages with the shooter; Tops, before The Sacred Empire could shoot back. Tops claimed to have over 250,000 bullets which had been collected since the start of the round. Explaining the reason for the kills, he/she “Did not want to die with them and wanted to start some action around here.” I asked if the kills were random or if specific people were targeted. The response was: “Everybody but one was TSE so not random” and again stating that it was simply because he/she “… had too many bullets and wanted to start some action…” and that there were “… too few shootings atm…”
The shooting did cause the controversy surrounding the vacation bannings, you can see further details of this in 'Vacation Bannings' by Cheetara, covering the topic in more detail. On the subject of players of The Sacred Empire members going on vacation to avoid being killed, Tops suggested that two of the players would have been targets.
The shooting does raise one main question though. Are we to believe that the shootings were actually random, a player with a large number of bullets felt bored and wanted to do something rather than sit doing nothing? Or is there something more behind this? If there is something more behind it then we have been unable to discover it thus far. Maybe something more will come of this and when it does, but for now we will have to wait and see. I messaged SharpKnife to see if he could comment on this but he declined to comment for the time being. What this space.
