Friendships are BLooming. Nontroversy

It is a strange thing, to click, click, click on a game that you pretend isn’t worth much to you.

You ask yourself: “Why am I still here? Why aren’t there any bloody Duesy’s in Pennsylvania? Who am I?” and then lo! You see an orange ‘friend’ highlighted (and I use the punctuation carefully as I am often told they are not your friends until they come round to your house for tea…) and you lament with them about how you’ve not got any cars yet and it’s been 48 hours and you’re beginning to hate Penni because bullets are pretty expensive and you hate even more giving more money to Tyn when he already had owned a few slots and/or properties, the tyrant, and then Bing! Escrow. And your orange friend (and I use it in a double fashion, as he is quite likely to be Dutch given the number of players from that lovely place) has given you a Duesy.
From Penny, already waiting in Louisiana for you.
Suddenly you don’t feel so bad.

Friends are pretty awesome. I asked on the forum a week ago for BL stories and I was happy to receive some very friendly and, amazingly, non-sex story responses:

I met 3 Icelandic friends, 2 of them in Reykavik, Iceland and one of them in San Diego, I met two Jordanian friends in Amman, Jordan. I have one English friend who I talk to a lot on whatsapp but haven't met yet, and one Norwegian friend who I talk to a lot on Snapchat. I have another Norwegian friend who I talk to on facebook now and then and One American friend in the same boat. All through Bootleggers.
Heck that's why I played Bootleggers!

I found this impossibly sweet. Without a friend to recommend it, I would never have played BL and despite him not being around anymore, I found the people I was left with and I knew to be a crazy, passionate bunch that I couldn't help but enjoy the banter with.

I didn't meet my fiance Cyco in Bootleggers , but I started to play because of him. The first person I met on BL was Trancofrom EH... I was a State Don with him and did some shooting together for TS…good old memories. Not long after I met Clara and Imitatio , Devilspawn , Musical (I met him when he was in the legend)
I joined Ombra Di Lucifer with him for few times... Grills , serendipty etc...I probably forgot some names!
I’ve played since 2003-2004 so but for almost all of them we speak regularly; in the game, Facebook… a good gang are in TP , we are a good bunch of old players!

It’s nice to see how long we met us and are still talking and developing a very good friendship... Because of BL I met a lot of nice people.”

This reporter also likes the fact that despite the old friendships, new ones begin every day – by adding new people on skype or getting drunk and puking on tinychat.

People make and keep friends easily. They invite them onto skype and share more than just tips on how to play the game. In the end they form crews, forge alliances or just gamble and frolic online, or
tag team and troll.

Sometimes there’s love.
" I don't remember what we talked about exactly to be honest... It's been almost 10 years. I remember he busted me a lot and I thanked him. We talked about anything and everything the next few months. We talked about our childhood, our family, marriage, kids... Literally everything before we even met face to face. We really clicked and we felt like we had to know if it would click in real life too. So we decided to meet, and the rest is history "

Good thing they agreed on the marriage and kids, huh? I appreciate Clar, Vero and Mickey responding to my questions.

Oh goodness. If I think about what I talk about with people on Bootlegger’s…they would have to be a strong person to see past my insanity…
Just when I've convinced myself I am superior being...I walk into a door.

We used to have a photo album with old player pictures, has it all evolved since then? From those playing from 2003, 2004 – is it now a case of log in to resync, and how in that case do you move forward as a crew or team? Do bitter enemies last rounds and rounds? How healthy is it that anger brews over years?

Maybe we are all just the kids we were back in 2003, keeping our enemies close and our true friends on IM, laughing at the world and its unfunny jokes and clicking one button at a time.

There’s a lot more that will be offered in the world of Bootlegger’s. So do we go round and round?
Only time will tell as we continue on our bootlegging journey together!
