A recent wave of Mafia related violence has strengthened several Organized Crime factions this week, with the most significant impact being felt across the State of Nevada.
The Nevada based criminal organization known as Final Redemption consolidated their operations significantly this week, with the Federal taskforce for Organized Crime officially designating them as a ‘Crime Family’. This change, according to an FBI spokesman, has resulted due to an “accumulation of resources, member influence and control over local operations.” Several sources close to law enforcement have backed this assessment up, with many confirming a tightening grip on illicit operations in Nevada by Final Redemption and their leader, Totenkopf.
An anonymous source, working undercover in a minor Mafia family, has confirmed to The Buzz the ramifications of Final Redemption becoming a Family. “Everything has really come to a head over the last week or so. The minor Bootlegging, Pickpocketing, Counterfeiting street gangs in Final Redemption’s area of operations? They’re all gone, they’re either running rackets for FR now, or refused and are buried in the desert somewhere.” Our source also confirmed the existence of a transport network run by Final Redemption, specifying that “FR running the main train stations out of Nevada mean they know who is coming in and out, and have a transport network for their own smuggling operations. Other wiseguys come and go as they please, but you can bet that a cut of the ticket sales always finds its way up the local guys.”
This designation of Final Redemption as an emerging Mafia Family has also lead to several changes all along the FBI’s list of ‘Most Wanted’ criminal organizations. Changes this week have included the incorporation of both the Enemy of The State and The Company criminal gangs as ‘Crews’, coming after the massacre of The Sacred Empire by The Invisibles (which we cover in more detail this week) and the ‘vacuum’ left behind by Final Redemption’s expansion. Another recent change that has also arisen has been the growth of The Battalion from criminal gang to a well-established crew, representing significant recent progress on the part of this criminal organization.
“These changes have come as a result of criminal gangs accruing enough power and influence to expand their operations as fully fledged crews”, an FBI source revealed to the Buzz. “Those that can prove themselves elevate their status within Mafia circles to a ‘Crew’, and there is no shortage of gangs and newcomers to take over the lower level operations left behind.”
These ‘lower level operations’ have indeed been taken over by both new and returning gangs this week, including The Sacred Empire who have re-established operations; including illicit Bullet production in Nevada. Newer gangs making an appearance have included rumored ‘bank job specialists’ The Outsiders out of Colorado, Los Zetas from South of the US Border and prolific inter-state smugglers the Cocaine Cowboys. This week also marked the dissolution and restructuring of Canadian criminal gang ‘Trevor Philips Industries’, who have reformed in New York as The Broadway Mob. How these Gangs progress through the Mafia landscape, along with newly established Crews and Families remains to be seen.
