Interviews with crews: Sector Omertà MrSpicyD

After their progression to Family I tried to get in contact with someone from Menace II Society. I set writing out letters to each of the leaders and council. After a few days I got a reply from a couple of them, which I replied instantly to. A few days went by with nothing so I wrote again asking for any response; be it negative or positive. And I waited. Still nothing. Obviously I couldn't be frustrated with the slow replies. They have a Family to run, they are busy men, but I had to start thinking of someone else to get in touch with before my Buzz deadline.

So I started looking through the files on other crews in America, at my dinning room table, when I heard a knock at my apartment door. It was late on a Tuesday evening, and I wasn't expecting guests. I slowly walked to the door and looked through the hole, no one. As I picked up my Yankee’s baseball bat that was lent against the door frame (got that trick from SenatorQ) I opened the door and looked out. The hallway was empty. As I went to close the door I looked down to see an envelope on the floor. It had no name on it, but it must have been for me. I picked it up, closed the door and went back to the dinning table.

I sat down and carefully opened it up. Out fell a note and a train ticket. It read: “YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT A CREW? GET THIS TRAIN.” I then panned to the ticket. It was for tomorrow morning. A fast train straight to Las Vegas, Nevada. Nevada? That’s Sector Omertà’s state. They don’t talk with anyone. I’m intrigued now. I have to go. I will go. I’m going.

Nevada is hot. Like real heat. As I stepped out of the station I wanted to jump into a pool of ice cold water. I was sweating through my suit it was so hot. All I could think about was the heat, until a young boy came up to me and asked me to help his friend who was getting picked on my older boys. ‘I can’t, I’m waiting for someone’ ’All you big city suited man are the same. Arseholes!’ What?! This kid just said what? I’ll prove you wrong then. ‘Right come on then where is he. If he is a friend of yours he probably deserves it but ok’ As I followed him round the corner of the station down past some trash cans my warning signs should have gone off, but no this child had annoyed me so much I didn’t think twice about walking down an alley of a town I had just arrived in, following the ‘orders’ from a not so friendly letter. As I turned the corner again the kid sprinted off leaving me standing there. Before I could work out what was going on everything went black.

As I came too I had suddenly forgotten about the heat as now that wasn’t my main concern. I was lucky I hadn’t forgotten everything with the headache I had. What the hell was going on?! As my eyes started to focus I could just about make out someone sitting in front of me. It was Jmak, one of the bosses of Sector Omertà. As I looked around we appeared to be on a building site, maybe a new casino or something. Suddenly he started talking. He apologised to me first off for what happened but he said it had to be this way. He then looked down to his lap. Sitting on top of it was my notebook with my interview questions already written out. ‘[You know] I used to write freelance articles aswell.’ Then he took out a pen and started writing.

Set Questions

Q-Who are the main names in the crew? Like bosses and council members.
A- As a crew we do not differentiate between members, we are a cohesive and very well united crew but lets categorize our responsibilities.
Bosses: Jmak, Plustwo & Ayoub

Q-How long have you and the other owners/founders of the crew know each other?
A- I've known Janick (Plustwo) for approximately 10 years. Ive known Ayoub for 2 years.

Q-Have you had any other crews owned and run by the same group of people but under a different name? If so, why the name change?
A-Omerta was a crew PlusTwo/Relentless founded in round 5. Sector Omerta is a conglomerate of Omerta and Sector Zero

Q-What round did you first establish this crew?
A-Round 5

Q-Where does your crew name come from?
A- Code of silence

Q-What's your crew greatest achievement this round or others?
A- Obtaining NJ bullet factory after shooting The Exiled.

We have also supported our side of the alliance with shootings.

Q-Are you recruiting? If so what do you look for in people
A- We are always recruiting.

We have a few procedures to get accepted in the crew such as vouches, we prefer newer and active players. We also expect members to participate with crew decisions and guidance.
We usually accept friends of our crew members.

Q-What tips would you give someone who are looking at crews to decide on which one to join?
A-Individuals looking for a crew should possess integrity and chose what is suitable for them to benefit the crew in the future.

Q-What bits of information or tips would you give to the people out there that want to start their own crew?
A-Always start a crew with your close friends so you can coordinate easily and manage things smoothly. If you would like to shine amongst crews you must dedicate your time for your crew.

Q-What's your stance on the alliance war?
A-I think that's very clear by now and who we stand with.

Since the very beginning we were against The syndicate and there puppets.

Specific Question

Q-At the moment you are top of the crew spots. Would you ever think about upgrading if the opportunity was there?
A-If we managed a family spot and extra influence, yes why not.

Q-How do you manage to all talk about a topic involving the crew when you have people from all over in it?
A-We usually use our external forum so some times crew forum isn’t that active, but as I've previously explained we manage things as a democracy so there is nothing to complain about.

Q-Your side in the alliance is very clear. When did you decide this?
A-Well actually we decided this last round and predicted it would be a great move to progress quickly.

After about 30 minutes of silence as he filled out these questions he then looked up and closed my notebook. He rose from his chair, walked over to me and placed the notebook on my lap. ‘You’re not going to knock me out again are you?’ I asked, softly. ‘[It’s] Las Vegas baby hehe’ The last thing I heard was his laugh as he swung a big old left hook my way.

I woke up sitting on a bench next to the train station with a ticket in my hand. It was for the last train back to New York that day, so at least they hoped I’d wake up today. I somehow made it onto the train and back to my apartment. My head was pounding by the time I got in. I should have probably gone to the hospital with mina concussion. But no, I thought half a bottle of whisky was better. It wasn’t. The next morning I woke up with a beaten AND a hungover head.
