Interviews with crews: The Chicago Outfit MrSpicyD

As I walked into the Buzz office Tuesday morning I was met with blank stares from all my co workers. TrevorPhilips had given me Monday off, because of what had happened last week with the kidnapping and SenatorQ's death interview, so I thought I would be greeted with abit of recoil. But not as much as this. People were staring as if something was wrong. Did I have something on my face? Was my suit not matching? Did I look that rough? Trevor then walked out of his office to see what the commotion was. As he saw me his face dropped. 'What are you doing here?!' He yelled, 'Your train leaves in 13 minutes!' Train? What? 'You're meant to be going to Chicago!!!' Ooooohhh. That's why they were looking at me. I was meant to be going to... S@%T!

I barely made the train. When I say barely I mean 'my suit jacket got caught in the doors' barely made it. But I made it, and that was good enough. When I got to the other end and walked out at Chicago Station I stood there looking around for a while. Seeing if I could see anyone that might look 'stereotypically mob'. I was meant to be meeting BatDel and from what I was told he was 'stereotypically mob' looking. He was one of the founders of the new Chicago Outfit but even though he was the top of the food chain within the crew he still did the dirty work himself when he could. So this could be interesting.

As I stood there on the side walk I felt something press against my back then a whisper from over my shoulder 'Don't move or make a sound if you know what's good for you'. Really?!?! Again?!? After what happened last week with Jmak!! Then I felt two hands on my shoulders as I was spun 180 degrees. Standing in front of me with a big grin on his face was BatDel himself. 'Ahaha!' He bellowed, 'I bet that scared ya! I read the article you did on Sector Omertà, thought I'd freak you out. Come on get in the car. I've got work to do.' With his arm over my shoulders we marched to his car (which was parked at an angle fully on the sidewalk, completely illegally, as if he had just driven as far as he could, stopped where he wanted and jumped out) and got in.

'Shall we do the interview before or after your "work"' I asked. 'Before. I might not be in the mood after'. Might not be in the mood? I don't want to ask why. Interview it is!

Set Questions

Q-Who are the main names in the crew? Like bosses and council members.
A- Myself and my two cousins are the Bosses. Skillz219 and GreazyThumbGuzik

Q-How long have you and the other owners/founders of the crew know each other?
A- Our entire lives

Q-Have you had any other crews owned and run by the same group of people but under a different name? If so, why the name change?
A- The Corleone Family was our original name. We wanted to use TCO since we all live right outside of Chicago, and it was a real mob family.

Q-What round did you first establish this crew?
A- Our 'The Chicago Outfit' was established in round 7 after we decided to change the name and Greazy talked to the previous boss of TCO.

Q-Where does your crew name come from?
A- Real crime family during the time period based out of Chicago Illinois.

Q-What's your crew greatest achievement this round or others?
A- This round would have to be us still being alive

Q-Are you recruiting? If so what do you look for in people
A- At this current moment we are not recruiting. We have a full spot and don't plan on upgrading anytime soon so there is no point really.

Q-What tips would you give someone who is looking at crews to decide on which one to join?
A- ummmmmm not sure really, depends on their play-style and what crews are around I guess

Q-What bits of information or tips would you give to the people out there that want to start their own crew?
A- None

Q-What's your stance on the alliance war?
A- Seeing as how the DI [Dutch Inc] Alliance killed us plenty of times last round and we did not attack them back, If they try it again this round we will be forced to retaliate back. We aren't going to stand for any bullying this round we are more prepared for it than last round and have a better perspective on it now. As for the other side we have no beefs with them and don't plan on it either.

Specific Question

Q-Why did you not retaliate when you are shot by Dutch Inc?
A- We were actually shot first by EH [Event Horizon], was told we were suspicious accounts, told them we were not a threat and would not attack back. We were then shot next by TP [The Prophecy], This was because of me being a "insta-don" then later wiped by them. Almost all of our players quit so we couldnt do anything at that point and then the round ended

Q-What is it like running a crew with actual family? Do you think it makes it easier or harder?
A- It makes it much easier with communication and such, seeing as we have members from our city too that play so we are all on the same time frame. Makes it a little difficult though for our members elsewhere. Still wouldnt have it any other way

Q-Why are you so adornment about staying as a gang and not upgrading? Or it is just because there isn’t a spot at the moment?
A- No spot is a big factor in it seeing as we are not trying to make enemies and shoot for one. Last round it seemed like everytime we upgraded we got hit so at this point we are not looking to upgrade.

As he finished the last sentence we pulled up on the curb outside what seemed like a scrap yard. 'I'll be right back. Then I'll take you to the train station. Stay. In. Here.' He delved into his pocket and pulled out a knuckle duster. As he put it on he reached under his chair and picked up a crowbar, slammed the door and walked into the yard. I see. That sort of "work". About 10 minutes had gone by when I started getting aggravated. Was he alright? I know he said stay in the car but should I go out to see how he is? Whilst I was weighing up the pros and cons I caught something out of the corner of my eye. It was BatDel walking back to the car. He swung open the car, threw the bloodied crowbar and knuckle dusters on the back seat and sat in the car, closing the door. He was pumped and sweating but seemed fine. Not even a scratch. He turned the car on and we drove. Silence, the whole way to the station. I’m glad I did the interview first. It would have been difficult after. We got to the station and he turned to me and nodded. I took that as a goodbye and got out of the car.

Whilst I was sitting on the train thinking about the day and how technically I am now an accomplice to a deadly beating, I looked down at my suit sleeve. There was a large tear going up it. I must have done it this morning as I got on the train. How embarrassing. I just met a crew boss looking like this. Then I thought about the bigger picture of what happened today. How is a tear in my suit my biggest worry from the last few hours? Perspective Spicy, get some.
