Black Tuesday: An Introduction JonSnow

Lansing, MI

Criminal figures, law enforcement and government officials were all rocked this week, with one of the biggest massacres in US criminal history shaking Organized Crime in the United States to its very core.

One-hundred and ninety-three criminals of varying notoriety, affiliation and area of operation lost their lives in a twenty-four period starting on Tuesday; forever altering the criminal landscape in a number of major cities. The changing landscape has also had far-reaching implications for local, State and Federal law enforcement; as they continue attempts to piece together events and restore order to what can only be considered as broken streets and scarred cities.

An anonymous FBI source has told the Buzz that "...the events of 4th-5th August will forever remain a pivotal moment in the history of Organized Crime in our nation" as well established criminal networks "disintegrate, rebuild and consolidate in the weeks and months to come." Civilian confidence in law enforcement is thought to be at an all-time low in some cities, with many small businesses in Mafia hotspots now thought to be turning to surviving gangs and crews for protection; and civilians staying in after dark in areas affected by recent warfare.

Over the course of this week's issue, the Buzz will attempt to profile, interview and understand both the victims and the assailants of the 'Black Tuesday' massacre. We will bring you information straight from the frontlines of Mafia warfare, and attempt to understand the longer term implications for law enforcement, the community and Bootleggers in the months to come.

We hope you enjoy this week's journey into one of the bloodiest conflicts in Mafia history.
