Interviews with crews: Death Valley MrSpicyD

As I hit my seventh article on crews I look back to what crews were official when it all started, nearly two months ago. As I flick through their documents I realise that I wrote a wipe article about most of them, before actually getting a interview with one of the representatives.

One crew that I had had a lot of contact with was Death Valley [DV] due to their addiction to shooting. My main source of information was DasShrooms. I felt like we had got to know each other some what over the months, so I reached out to him for an interview. As I had hoped he was more than happy to do an interview. He said it will have to be at one of his business as at the moment he was a busy man. Now, Shrooms has two very different businesses.
One being a horse racing track in Nevada, the other being a bullet factory in New York, as I said; addicted to shooting.
out of the two I knew which one he prefered.

A few days later I got a letter through the post from him, it was an invitation to an event at his racetrack for the coming Saturday.
It was a suit and tie event, so I better get my one nice suit cleaned for it.
I arrived at the racetrack and was greeted by a sea of black. The DV working 'uniform' was black suit, black shirt and black tie and there was a lot of them there as security. I was shown through into a Box, which already had a few high profile characters both in the organised crime world and the political world, so for their sake I will mention no names.

After a few more guests came in, and it seemed no more would be coming, Shrooms steeped forward into the room and started to give his speech.

He spoke on the hard times we've had and the hard times to come, but yet as I looked around no one there was really feeling the depression itself. As his speech came to an end people started to clap as he walked through us to the balcony out over looking the track.
The horses had been set up behind us ready to go whilst he gave his speech. He lent over the balcony, pulled out a revolver from his jacket and let it off into the air; starting the first race of the day.
People cheered and all rushed out to get a look as he walked back into the now empty room with just me standing (looking out of place) in the middle. 'Not going to watch the race? See who wins?' I innocently asked him.
'Never been much of a betting man.' He replied, the tiniest of smirks on his face, 'Shall we do this then?' He then guided me into his office that was connected to the box we were in and sat at his table. When he was settled, we began.

Set Questions
Q-Who are the main names in the crew? Like bosses and council members.
A- Scandalous, Shrooms, Deadrabbits, Tayz (Bosses)

Hunger, Keiran, Anees, Raja, Sammy, Swoozie, Sadman, Bashar and Hussam (Council)

Madness & Bulls (recruiters)

Q-How long have you and the other owners/founders of the crew known each other?
A- I've known deadrabbits and Bashar for years, tayz I met last round and scandalous only at the start of this round. Deadrabbits/Bash/Scan have know each other for a long time.

Q-Have you had any other crews owned and run by the same group of people but under a different name? If so, why the name change?
A- Eternal Labyrinth was a previous crew which alot of us were involved with at some point

Q-What round did you first establish this crew?
A- Approximately 4years ago Death Valley was formed.

Q-Where does your crew name come from?
A- Deadrabbits made the name Death Valley after the thousands of kills that Eternal Labyrinth made over the years. It was time for a fresh start as Eternal Labyrinth were generally disliked throughout the community. However DV is not EL, we have many old members but also have many members and council who were never involved with that crew.

Q-What's your crew's greatest achievement this round or others?
A- Our greatest achievement is making our crew strong and unified. This was our aim from day one and we like to think we have been so far rather successful.

Q-Are you recruiting? If so what do you look for in people
A- Yes we are always recruiting, we look for guys who are generally active and those who would rather play as a group rather than by themselves. Those who put in effort will be noticed and we always try to reward those select people and involve them somehow.

Q-What tips would you give people who are looking at crews to decide on which one to join?
A- It is all personal preference and I believe that your playing style should be though about when joining a crew. If you do not like to stock bullets and shoot, Death Valley isn't for you.

Q-What bits of information or tips would you give to the people out there that want to start their own crew?
A- Be yourself and first and foremost build your crew around a solid group of friends/members.

Q-What's your stance on the alliance war?
A- I think our stance is rather clear right now. We are now fighting against two alliances (which I believe are now working together). We will continue to do our part and hopefully remain on the statistics for aslong as possible. We will always be here to battle on and will be until the end.

Specific Question

Q-What pushed your crew to turn to TV and TSE about what the other side of the alliance was going to do?
A- DV have been very good friends with TV for years, we were in the same crew at one point and we will always regard them as true friends. While the decision was tremendously difficult to make, We believe we made the right choice by sticking by their side. The same goes for TSE.

Q-You have quite a prolific death squad this round, do you still have any UG shooters that haven't been used yet?
A- As a crew love to shoot, we regard shooting as the main feature in bootleggers and have so many great shooters with a good understanding of the kill system. We also like to give new members who have proved themselves worthy a chance to shoot for the crew. We are however, unwilling to discuss ug shooters at this time.

Q-You have 3 official spots on the stats page at the moment, why is that?
A- As our position has grown stronger we have been bombarded with applications to join, this is the reason for us having so many stat spots.

As the interview came to an end it was perfectly timed because there was some shouting coming from the box, quite distressed shouting to be specific.
We rushed back in there to see people screaming at that track but with some looking away out of disgust. After pushing our way through the crowd to get to the front of the balcony we finally saw what was wrong. A horse had fallen and crushed it's rider, also breaking two of its legs. It didn't look good.

As I turned to talk to Shrooms to about what should be done he had already begun his journey over the balcony and through the general public who were crowding in the stand below us.
He was making his way to the track. Once he got down there he stood over the horse, who was rilling in pain, drew his gun and aim it at its head. He looked up at the crowd, who were now mostly silent, and said 'It is a clear gain to sacrifice a loved one in order to avoid pain'. He then pulled the trigger twice to put the creature out of its pain. As the echo of the shots rang women started to faint and a I heard a few others vomit.

I thought this my best time to leave. Let him sort out what would happen now with the day of races. Will it go on? Or will he put a halt to the days event? If I know Shrooms my guess is he will sweep the horse aside, clear up the measure, and continue with the day.
I was right. As I left the carpark I heard the fan fair music going again coming out of the speakers around the track. Always the professional, in any circumstance.
