We at the Bootleggers Buzz were hit by scandal on Tuesday, having fallen victim to a prolific, California-based conman known as both KeyserSoze and SollyD. The deception masterminded by KeyserSoze culminated in the plundering of the Bootleggers Buzz’ own resources, with losses totalling over twelve million dollars. The clearing of the Buzz’ accounts was only one part of KeyserSoze’s crime spree however, with parties being affected up and down the country.
The impact of these various scams and deceptions were first felt in Nevada, with the locally based Final Redemption crew falling victim to a number of low level schemes. These schemes involved seemingly inconsequential amounts of money and resources, but when combined represented a fair financial loss and a serious betrayal of trust. When asked for comment, Final Redemption Boss Totenkopf confirmed that KeyserSoze had ‘betrayed his trust’ by means of taking out loans of $500,000-$1,000,00 from members that were never paid back. These issues were then further exacerbated by the subsequent betrayal of Final Redemption members when carrying out Organized Crime jobs.
In a frank interview with the Buzz, Totenkopf confirmed that the now disgraced former Editor played on his previous affiliation to Final Redemption, using his previously good reputation to take advantage of trusting crew members. “He told me he loved me, the crew, and everyone who is in here. He told me he would return to FR, then went and joined The Chicago Outfit where he kept on scamming”.
The actions taken by KeyserSoze eventually did have consequences, with a body matching his description having being found in a burnt out Starpegasus in Carson City, NV. Some sources suggest this may have been a staged scene however, due to an individual known as SollyD being allegedly taken into Federal Custody on Embezzlement charges on Wednesday. The current status of KeyserSoze and his aliases are currently unknown.
We at the Bootleggers Buzz have always appreciated that the allegiances of individual writers and staff members may vary, with Editorial and Ethical guidelines being dictated by the stance of both the Paper and the incumbent Editor. In our current format we do not condone our Writers and Editorial Staff engaging in actions that bring this publication into disrepute, and we find the actions taken by KeyserSoze to jeopardise The Buzz (from clearing our accounts to withholding Writer payments) to be deplorable.
We at the Buzz welcome KeyserSoze/SollyD’s incarceration, and will report on any future developments.
