NEWS: When Friends becomes Foes - Most Wanted vs The Liberated Family Phantom

Sometime in round 9.5 tensions began to brew between two crews who had once been friends. The forums were filled with animosity from Aaron, leader of Most Wanted and Straat, member of The Liberated Family (Previously The Liberated and The Family who have merged into one group). The two juggernauts of past and present were promising to duke it out in the future and both had points to prove.

Most Wanted had reformed in round 7 under new leadership and were known as strong affiliates of powerhouse The Family. I don’t think anyone will deny the fact that The Family was the top dog in this era of Bootleggers and most crews who were affiliated with them were mere pawns in a long term goal for absolute domination on the game. However Most Wanted has grown into a formidable force themselves over the years without the aid of The Family. The Family disappeared and Most Wanted made their own name and stepped out from the Shadows of The Family, adapting to the new meta of Bootleggers fantastically and proving to every one they could reach the top as a stand-alone crew.

The Family is no stranger to any old school player of Bootleggers, achieving remarkable feats from the manual reset in round 6 to complete control and domination of every other crew in round 7. These guys were simply not to be messed with back in the day. However when round 8 came around, they seemed to just disappear. A lot of rumors circulated, some say that they couldn’t adapt to the new way of playing bootleggers and had lost their touch, some say that they just downright refused to and called it a day and other say that they were chased out of the game by the new era of alliances. We will never be certain about what actually happened with The Family, only they themselves can answer that.

Fast Forward to the now and most recently round 9.5 and The Family had resurfaced. At first they claimed neutrality but had close ties with their former friends. The Family was fresh back on the scene and it was late into the round so nobody expected them to achieve what they had once done in this round. What came as a shock, an alliance that included their former allies of round 7 The Liberated (A rebranded Enemy Of The State) and Most Wanted took to their browning’s and wiped The Family’s crew spot. Although the hand that fired didn’t come from either of these crews it was still seen as an act of war. Whilst Most Wanted refused to side with The Family, The Liberated weren’t ready to turn their back on their former friends and that is when the two crews merged to create The Liberated Family.

After some shootings back and forth and the end of round 9.5 we have found ourselves wondering what will happen regarding these friends turned enemies and so far we haven’t been disappointed. A crew which was heavily suspected of being The Liberated Family named Valhalla was shot earlier this week at the hands of Most Wanted. Obviously this made everyone interested, so we did our best to find out more.

We first tracked down Phuzz about the shooting of Valhalla and wanted some of the juicy details about the shooting. We asked him first and foremost how many shooters Most Wanted had supplied in the attack? He told us, “We used 11 shooters on the main attack of the spot. We decided to make our first shooting of the round a team effort. Everyone who wanted to shoot was assigned a target. With the new PI system being so random with search times we were unlucky the first kill came in so early allowing them to rank an account to gangster before we could fully wipe the spot. We held back accounts as we knew they would retaliate and have to show their UG shooters. Unlucky for us there still isnt a witness statement for their last kill.” Eleven shooters is a lot but it seemed like a good way to test out the new whack feature and to give every one a go at their first shooting statement of the round. Phuzz was kind enough to tell us how many bullets they had used in the attack, continuing, “We used around 700,000 bullets. Majority were bought from the factories or mission bullets. We had enough to cover majority of the kills and we were happy with the amount of gold we actually had to use. In all honesty we probably used less gold to wipe them then they had to use to retaliate.”

We wanted to go a little bit deeper into the history of MW and TLF so we thanked Phuzz for his time and asked if it would be possible to speak to the head honcho himself. Aaron agreed to speak to the Buzz and agreed to answer some of our questions.

We wanted to know from Aarons perspective what had happened in the past to make Most Wanted and The Liberated Family fall out to the extent in which they did, he told us, “Basically, after rounds of being side by side with each other, TL decided to merge with TF behind MWs backs. When we found out, I asked Ghys and he denied it at first, then admitted to it. I used to have a lot of time for Ghys, he’s a decent geezer - but we see things completely differently.

I felt betrayed. MW and ETS/TL stood side by side each other, through success and failure, without TF. When TF see that Round 8 was going to be a disaster, they run faster than Usain Bolt’s Olympic WR for 100mtrs. They weren’t interested. ETS and MW then had it out with everyone for 2 full rounds, completely alone, until TC come along, then it was all 3 of us for a bit of time.

So with the above, Ghys wanted all 3 of us to go with TF again, we declined because of the lack of respect and support from previous rounds. They didn’t like that, they expected us to just follow them like sheep- this wasn’t happening, at all - so we stayed with TC and that’s when TLF started their anti MW agenda.

This is then when some of them took to the forums, started the usual bollocks that I’m this, or I’m that - MW is this, MW is that. We’re used to it now. We had their comments on the forums for well over a year.

So this round, the minute MW see the changes to the mechanics to suit MW’s actual game play preference. We informed TC that if they was game for that too, that’s what direction MW would be going in. So since then, we’ve been UG and will remain UG. We are not a stat crew, we don’t want to be a stat crew. BL was at its best when you had both, stat crews being monsters, UG groups being beasts - the game needs this for balance, for that fear factor of, who to hit, who not to, if you do, this is gunna happen, etc - the game so far this round has progressed impressively and we’re generally far more happier with this new and improved BL.

MW this round won’t be targeting our usual enemies. Enemies we’ve had for about 3 rounds now, it’s stagnated. Ax, EH, DI and Neno and co, they can hold hands on control stats all they want - they’re not who we’re going after. Our primary target is and will be TLF. We don’t doubt or disrespect their capabilities, but they do ours; so we’ll show them.

That’s a quick(ish!) story about what happened.

I would like to just note; that from our side, if we had our way - nothing would have changed from the MW/TL and TC days. It’s rare you find a mutual gameplay style that suits all 3 sides and an understanding between all 3 of complete respect.

MW’s loyalty to friends is 2nd to none, even our enemies would know this; it’s proven by our understanding with TC, regardless of what’s happened, friends like that are what games are about.” A very thorough and informative reply which we are sure all you readers will enjoy. What we found interesting is that they are willing to let old beef be with regards to enemies of previous rounds to focus all of their attention on a new enemy to prove a point.

We wanted to know how Aaron truly felt regarding this matter and his feelings towards The Liberated Family. We asked him if what he wanted to and had built with Most Wanted is a reputation that of The Family of round 7 and if he thought that his crew had now surpassed his former mentors? He told us, “Be a bit of a different reputation, but the same aura. Definitely not mentors. Our objectives and the way we go about achieving those are very different to what theirs used to be. Plus, we wouldn’t team up with a group because we had to in order to try and achieve relevance again.

It’s like what TLF like to say about Pannu and myself. That he did this and that for me. It’s all funny really, because like the things most people try and throw at me, it’s all assumptions and no truth to it. Those who say that to me about Pannu, might want to ask him where he was during R3 and MS inc times, or who gave him his first real position as a crew boss. Facts will always beat assumptions. Like I said, we’re very different. But we’ve been here since all this kicked off, others haven’t. We’re consistent. Win or lose, we’ll do whatever we can, whenever we can.”

Very strong words coming from Aaron. It looks as though this lies even deeper than post round 7 and can stem back to even round 3. Finally we wanted to speak to Aaron about Valhalla, we asked him if they had any intel that Valhalla was indeed The Liberated Family or if it was just a hunch? He told us, “No intel. That’s another thing we do not agree with; if we want a war, we want a fair game war. None of this insider shit, all the betraying and what not isn’t how we like to play. Just a hunch, crew oriented profile pics, individual profiles, time zones of activity, etc.”

That wrapped everything up regarding Aaron, we thanked him for his time and set our sights on The Liberated Family. For those of you who remember the Buzz attempting to speak to these creatures of secrecy back in round 7, anything to do with the Buzz was politely declined apart from on rare occasions. Unfortunately, this time around is similar. Although Pannu of The Liberated Family did share this one statement with us - He said, “Let Aaron talk, we will just let our playing speak for itself at this point.”

Short and straight to the point. A message for Aaron and Most Wanted. Unfortunately Pannu didn’t want to continue speaking to us so we thanked him and moved on.

Looking at this war brings a breath of fresh air to my lungs. It is reminiscent of the old days of Bootleggers were people shot each other and went to war for actual reasons, not because you were just on the other side or a crewless account and deemed as a threat. I have to commend both of these crews for letting old stagnated rivalries die in order to pursue new ones. I really feel that this is what the game needs to escape from the alliance domination which we have seen since round 8. One thing is for sure though, this war is far from over and I hope everyone is as excited as The Buzz is to see how this one plays out.
