Interviewing Dr.Zoidberg! iSmurf

As soon as the Buzz learnt that Dr.Zoidberg had become a Help Desk Operator (HDO), we quickly grabbed him from his new busy duties in hopes of an interview with the new, slightly unexpected, HDO.

Instantly, we got the impression that interviewing Dr.Zoidberg, would not be like any other interview we had done before. This became clear to us through his response when we asked how he felt at becoming a HDO, “I am a robot. I don't feel . . . *BEEP*.” After replacing some wires, we were luckily, able to get Dr.Zoidberg working at full functioning for the rest of the interview.

Dr.Zoidberg soon told us, “I was never aiming at anything, and I would definitely say it was completely unexpected.” It would seem that the help desk has certainly surprised quite a few players with the unexpected reshuffling of the Help Desk. Dr.Zoidberg did express some concern that players may now see him differently as he takes on a more responsible role within the Bootleggers community, “I suppose it's possible, but if people choose to behave like that it's their choice.” He then added, “and would make me sad if I could emote.”

It would seem that Dr.Zoidberg will be taking a more direct approach to his new role, as he quite clearly stated to us, “I think most people know the major duties of a Help Desk Operator and I think the title says most of it. I'm a . . . Help Desk Operator.” A pointedly obvious answer, dare we continue with the interview?

Despite wanting to hear so much more about his new role and comments on Bootleggers in general, we had the impression that Dr.Zoidberg was rather busy. When we asked if there was anything else he would like to add, as we wrapped up the interview, the response, “2+2=4,” told us that Dr.Zoidberg is not the conventional HDO that would be expected. Refreshingly new and humorous that he is, we’re sure that he’ll enjoy his new spot as HDO and we wish him the best of luck with the future.
