Bootleggers BootCast iLuMP

This week we investigated the BootCast. The Buzz wanted to know what it was like to be a listener, a DJ and hear everybody’s views of it. Coming up is an interview with Mags, the head of BootCast. FireForEffect, a DJ for the BootCast and to top it all off, a listener.

Firstly we kick it off with an interview from the head of BootCast, Mags, who had quite a lot to say. We began by asking Mags what was his favourite thing about being a DJ. “More to the point, what isn’t my favourite thing? When it comes to being a DJ, I just love it. I love being a character on air. I love being able to reach players through the power of spoken word. I like sharing the music I like with people of the same opinions. I like it when they say, ‘Thanks Mags’, ‘I love you Mags’ and ‘you rock Mags’ because every show I just sit there and think the same as the listener,” He explained, before continuing, “I like being able to serve the players with some enjoyment. Even the haters stay tuned it, denouncing me at every turn. I still smile though as they stay tuned in."

Next we asked Mags if he could think of anything to improve the Bootleggers BootCast. “The stream quality without a doubt. Also, the head DJ could be less militant. I am guilty of being a pain in the ass, and most of the time it isn’t deserved. The BootCast needs some decent DJ’s who don’t just view it as something fun; they need to view it as a fun job. Back to the point, the stream needs a major upgrade; it would make the music not sound so flat."
The Buzz followed this up by asking Mags what he thought made the BootCast so great. “It is the only medium in the game where you can speak to the listener. It’s live, dynamic, mostly exciting and it has the most amazing people behind it. It goes from the administrators all down to the last small trialist. Its potential is limitless.”

We concluded our interview with Mags by asking if he had any other comments. It turned out, he had many. However due to their size we could include it all. Mags ended by explaining, “The BootCast thrives on people listening to it. Not the giveaways. People who only listen for money, in my opinion, should not listen at all.”

We then interviewed another DJ and asked for his opinion. We kicked off our interview with FireForEffect by asking what his opinion was of the BootCast. “I think the BootCast is one of the best features on Bootleggers. It’s interactive and it helps you get to know people through music,” he explained. Next, the Buzz asked FireForEffect what it is like to be a DJ. “It’s really good! It feels great to know people tune in to hear your favourite music, as well as theirs.” FireForEffect replied enthusiastically.
We followed this response up by asking if anything could be updated to make the BootCast even better. “Maybe a playlist that takes over if the DJ goes offline. That was Bootleggers will have music continuously.” FireForEffect responded.
The Buzz then inquired into what FireForEffect’s favourite thing about the BootCast is. “I love doing giveaways, playing requests and reading out shout-outs. You get to know the players behind the names.” FireForEffect said, before finishing with “if you see the yellow sign, tune in!!”

Last but not least, we spoke to a BootCast listener. The Buzz began by asking TheZohan how often he listens to the BootCast. “Whenever I am online I tune in, then I leave it there for days at a time!” he exclaimed.
We then asked about his opinion on the BootCast. “Sometimes I think it is really bad, but that is only because it is not my style of music...” TheZohan explained.
We asked TheZohan what could be improved. “I just want to see more of Mags and Sabin together. They are great hosts,” he told us, before finishing with, “they are definitely my favourite DJs!”

We would like to thank all our interviewees for their interviews, and wish them all the best of luck in gaming and DJing. Never used the BootCast? Tune in and see what the fuss is all about!
