Where Are Those Drivers?! MisterLawrencex

So, you are going to run your own OC. You are sure it's going to be a really great one and you advertise in Classifieds. Of course, you are starting it in New York, as that is where most of the players are or maybe Illinois. And now you start to get replies, "yes I can be Equiptment Expert," or "send me invite for Weapons Expert," perhaps a few wish to be your Explosive Expert as that seems to be popular these days.

But what about your driver? You will get "I can OC anywhere but I will not be driver" advertisements. BM's from thugs saying "I will do any job but driver." Wow! Hold on, it didn't used to be like this. There was once a time when being driver was the cheapest and easiest job. You could find drivers with Duesenburgs or Beaufords sitting on any state corner with a rolled up Bootleggers Buzz, just waiting for a shout! But now, oh no, the driver is the hardest job to fill.

The only chance you have these days is if you are ranking as a Don or higher, and even then a scum will tell you the only way they'll drive is if you give them the car and the gas money.

What has happened? Two things spring to mind: the very high cost of a car these days (thanks to players who trade in Duesenbergs) and the apparent lower rank points if you are a driver. Well I think offering 15% for you to drive a Beauford should be enough, but maybe I must also say "please" and offer to wash the car afterwards!

Good luck with finding your driver and once you do, for the love of BSF, get to know them, become their friend. Cherish them, for they are one of the rare delicacies on Bootleggers.
