Stealing to Order vasago3

As you are all aware by now there was a major contest on publication of last weeks Buzz and this contest was won by the one and only JiggerRabbit aka Miss.

Why am I writing an article about this? Because I am a crew mate and friend of JiggerRabbit and would like to give the story of the contest win from the perspective of the crew, The Order.

On Sunday afternoon, I was doing my usual BL thing, spamming the CF and giving abuse to my crew mates! The contest was about to start, or so I thought, and we were sitting there with baited breath when I got a BM from a crew mate, madmacav3, “What state are you stealing from?” it said. I replied with the state I was planning to reside in for the duration of the contest. Suddenly, I had a cunning plan! If we competed as a crew for the crew then our chances of winning would increase dramatically. As quickly as my little fingers could, I fired off a BM to madmacav3 explaining my plan. If we spread the crew members throughout all states we would cover all bases. Mads thought the plan was good and contacted tsjv2 in order to get the rest of the crew involved.

Tsjv2 added a forum topic, but little interest, back to the BMs! I sent a BM to all crew members asking them to check the topic and select a state to steal from. Soon we had filled all states and were doubling up on members in states. The cunning plan was in effect. At this point it may be prudent to add that at this time we were not aware that it didn’t matter which state you were in for stealing the special car.

We all sat there, waiting the publication of the Buzz ….. and waiting ……more waiting … when suddenly, lit up like an HDO was the yellow “Bootleggers Buzz” in the top left of my screen. Quick check on the Game Forum, and GO! GO! GO!. After all this wait I clicked the Auto Burglary page, selected The Imperium and clicked “Steal”. “You failed at stealing a car!”, what an anti-climax!

I was not disheartened, and waited four minutes for another try … “You stole a Beauford from XXXXXX! It has 0% damage.” YES! I was up and running, now for the “special car!” Click, nope, click, nope! On and on for hours. We kept communicating via BM, MSN, CF and an off site forum so we knew who was managing to steal and who needed busting out of jail.

It got to a point at which I was almost falling asleep and realization set in that I was due to be up for work in 4 hours. Good job we had re-enforcements in. The UK and Dutch contingency gave way to our US counterparts and they continued to steal for the crew.

The next morning I was up especially early wanting to see what was going on with the contest. I logged in and noticed the contest had been won. Who was it? Quickly scrolling down I noticed it was my crew mate that had won! With excitement I went to the CF, looked at the topics and saw the one posted by JiggerRabbit entitles “woops”. It turned out that JiggerRabbit woke up early and logged on BL. Click Phaeton, Click Comet, Click, Bentley Coupe. Bentley Coupe? “woops”!

I had enough time to BM JiggerRabbit to say well done before I had to leave for work.

That evening I logged on and went to the CF. It was party time! The whole crew was excited for our friend and fellow crew member. We were so happy that someone from The Order had won after all the teamwork the previous night. Lestat, one of the crew bosses said “I am ecstatic for her, she deserves all the luck in the world, third time as lucky as well, luck be a lady or in this case luck be a Miss.“ Another boss, RulesOfPrey, said “I was ecstatic. She has been one of my best friends for years on this game. It couldn't have happened to a more deserving person. Miss is the Bomb!!!”

Before I hand over my final few words to the winner herself I thought I had better speak to Air and get his views on the whole contest. “Heh, was a tough one, huh. I'm glad I did it but there won't be one as big as that for a while now... that's why I made sure the reward was big for this one. Something memorable. Although when I next decide to do one like this, the reward will be bigger!” So now we all have something to look forward to!

Anyway as I stated, this article wouldn’t be complete without some words from JiggerRabbit. So how did it feel to win this competition? “I was flabbergasted. I saw that car and my heart went racing and I thought woops. I even forgot to screenie it”. So, the general verdict on the contest? “I read about it, but due to RL stuff I didn’t think I could participate. Air ran a tight show. I’m sorry I got it after you guys tried and worked so hard” was the response from the rabbit. At the end of the day teamwork still paid a big part in this since JiggerRabbit was part of the team.

I hope you all enjoyed the contest and are looking forward to the next one, I sure am. Lastly, congratulations to JiggerRabbit for PWNing and for the rest of The Order for their contributions and a big thank you to Air for organizing the contest.
