Tips and Strategies for a successful OC DonSteelback

This article is intended for all the little guys and also the more seasoned BL players. It is a quick, simple and informative guide to getting the most out of every Organized Crime you commit; to make sure that you are not the victim of any scammers that seem to plague Bootleggers these days. This is basically condensing what I have learned playing Bootleggers and also information from the FAQ and blhelp.com, which can sometimes be hard to locate.

For the new guys/gals:

1) It is best to find some of your friends on this game. Get to know more people or get your personal friends involved. This will make OC'ing easier to do, especially if you are a scum who is just starting out.
2) My personal opinion is to rank up to at least PeeWee before attempting to join any Organized Crimes. More and more people are beginning to not include Scums in their OC's, which is understandable since more and more people are ranking higher.
3) Always look into who is leading the Organized Crime. Make sure that the other players seem trustworthy.
4) Once you do reach that point where you begin to lead Organized Crimes, make sure you look into every person who you let join. Ensure that the person is not saying that their rank is different.

IMPORTANT: Make sure that if you do allow scums to join, that they are only Driver. If they are placed at any other position, the Organized Crime will have a higher chance of a fail.

5) For those of you looking to make a quick buck from an Organized Crime, make sure that the leader finalizes the percents BEFORE you click, "I'm Ready". This will ensure that you do not get scammed out of your quoted percentage of the earnings.
6) The equipment that should be bought for each position to ensure the best possible outcome is:
Weapons Expert: 2 MK III's, or 1 Thompson.
Explosives Expert: C4
Driver: Duesenberg, with 0% damage.

For the More Seasoned Player:

Once you have become higher ranked and have done a few more Organized Crimes, the game becomes much easier and enjoyable. Here are some tips to maximize the amount that your Organized Crime will bring in.

1) Try to find players who have the same rank as you or if you can, a higher rank. This will bring up not only your chances of success in the OC, but also your earnings and experience... which will eventually send you onto the next rank.

NOTE: No OC has a 100% chance of being successful. Even if you are able to get 4 Legendary Dons, using c4, 4 Thompsons, and a Duesenberg, there is still a chance that it will fail (even if the chances are minimal). Do not be upset if you lose health or money because these things have/do happen occasionally.

2) Again, as I stated above, make sure that you know who you are letting into your OC. It is best to find players you know or players that you have done Organized Crimes with in the past, to ensure that they are trustworthy.
3) If you are leading, make sure that you give out the proper percents to the proper players. Do not be greedy. Spread out the percents evenly and do not hoard all the takings. This will increase your chances of people wanting to join.
4) The common thought is that the best positions are: Weapons Expert, Explosives Expert and Driver. However, through my own personal experience and word of others, I have found that on average an Equipment Expert yields a bigger profit. Simply replace that position with the Explosives Expert and you're on your way! The recommended equipment for this job is a Professional Lock Picking Kit.
5) Do not scam. Be an honest and trustworthy player. If you say you will give someone X amount for doing their job, then give it to them. Don't change it at the last minute and screw them out of money. This is one way to getting hitlisted or even killed by people.
6) Valuable Tip: If you are a lower rank and wish to rank in a hurry, offer up a higher percent for higher ranked players. Again, it will increase your overall experience and will yield a bigger profit.

Committing an Organized Crime can be tricky and time consuming but it undoubtedly has its benefits. Following these easy steps/tips will ensure you a faster ranking, more experience and a bigger bank account!

Happy Bootlegging everyone!
