COLUMN: Reset Time Already? IAmAceAdam

It’s safe to say that this hasn’t been the best round Bootleggers has seen. But is it that bad that it already needs a reset? Well, after the recent mass killings witnessed last week by Komodo, The Family and The Triad, a player named AllDayLong made a topic on the game forum asking people whether they think Bootleggers should be reset. The Buzz is going to show some of the replies and evaluate each of them.

All I can say about the dons. Do something before you lose it.
It’s a mafia game. Shoot someone before they shoot you.

This is a very valid comment. It is basically what the game is about. Its main purpose is to kill other accounts. So if you’re here to rank to Nation Don and expect not to be killed or threatened in any way, think again. This may not be the game for you. If you die, come back and take revenge on your killer! Don’t moan or threaten to “quit”!

But such big shooting will stop players playing BL, people get shot for only being a LGF ..
They worked hard for it and shoot for nothing, and the last months there are already o less people online. If you see the users online pages these days and the past you’ll see a lot of difference.
In the past you had 1000 people online. Last week’s its only max 200 and by these shootings its will go to 100, maybe even lower ... that’s not fun playing.

LWinV2 makes a fair point. But surely the people that stop playing because they got killed aren’t true Bootleggers players? This point can be reiterated again and again but the whole point of Bootleggers is to shoot or die! It’s a mafia game, not Farmville! Regarding the past, seeing 1000 people online only happened because dupes were still at large. Since then there has been a big cut down on dupes.

If you think there was no more resets, imagine how much money/power/bullets some crews would have, it would be interesting seeing many fall and many rise, isn't that the point? if we keep having resets all the effort the players make will result to nothing if we keep hitting the restart button.

This is probably the best point in the whole topic, it’s very true. Are we going to reset every time someone goes on a killing spree? Because by the time I’ve finished writing this article the game would probably have been reset if that’s the case. Universe mentions the player’s efforts going to waste. That’s true. What about the 9 Legendary Dons that survived that massive killing spree? Imagine how angry they’d be if the game was reset because of that? All them months work for absolutely nothing.

It's not about what a reset changes, just that this round has been played and won. Bootleggers should have some sort of goal, when a crew reaches it, it should reset. What’s the point going on with this round when 1 or 2 single crews being able to take out almost every high rank there is? They work together and because of that, they are nearly impossible to beat too. And to make it worse all other crews are just gay and try to be friends or team up with them, at least don’t start to shoot back, there's no one fighting back. It's just pointless to play further and BL should have a goal in the future, once it's reached it should reset and there should be winners announced. Right now it's an ongoing round until everyone stops buying points.

This idea could work, but imagine if there was just one mission which each player had to aim for. The game would die significantly, al that would happen is that players would just aim to pass the mission and once done the game gets reset! So we’ll just keep going round in circles and we’ll be having resets about three times a month. Chronicz also says there is no point playing if one or two crews can dominate. But surely all it takes for someone to buy loads of points and shoot back? Literally any player could do that if they wanted. This is why also underground crews exist, to aim to take out the strongest crew on the statistics page. It keeps the game flowing; players wipe a crew. That crew comes back and retaliates. And so on and so on.

So in conclusion, you just need to know how to play the game! Learn to invest your cash wisely! Learn how to swiftly attack after being targeted! Make good, close friends who’ll have your back no matter what, have respect. If you die, come back even stronger. Don’t give up after the first hurdle, or the first account. Remember, no matter how strong someone thinks they are, there’s always someone stronger.
