Column: Too Many Crews? MarlonGotShot

I think it is fair to say that the lack of actual playing on Bootleggers in recent time has gone downhill, a lot. I remember the days when we had the full 15 crews fighting for their place on the stats. But now it is a whole different world, we see that there are only half that amount of crews and no fighting between them. This raises the question of is there too many crew spots. Have we reached the point were it would be a good idea to reduce the crew limit to say five crews instead of 15?

Well, at first this seems like a wonderful idea. Five crews left on the stats and a few are knocked off, thus resulting in a fight to regain their spot on the stats. However, as great as the idea sounds I find it somehow difficult to imagine that there would be any fighting over these few spots. First of all, all the crews that are on the stats at the moment are all connected somehow. During the recent phase of everybody in the game being killed for some reason only known fully to the crews who were involved. So any crew that got onto the stats and where not in the safety of the other crews were wiped automatically. Thus making the lowered amount of crews pretty much impossible to shift from the stats. That would in turn make lowering the max of allowed crews pretty pointless.

The second idea that comes to mind is the fact that there is no distinct advantage to being on the stats. Any crew could be underground and be just as strong as a stats crew. The only way to have a struggle for the crew spots would be to give distinct advantages to the crews on stats. Some ideas that come to mind, (Feel free to rip these ideas to shreds), would be, crew bullet factories so that each crew has an increased influx of bullets to share amongst the crew members. Another would be to give the crews a significant increase in their search speeds. This makes sense as it seems more likely that a group of people could find one person with more efficiency than a normal street thug could find that same person. So giving the stat crews advantages over the underground crews seems a fair idea. Sacrifice being hidden for more power? I would do it.

So it seems that at the moment there would be no significant point in the lowering of the crew max. However, if the powers of the game, (BSF?), were to make some nice changes to the crew system maybe, just maybe it would be worth going on to fight for the crew spots? However if I was to base the likely hood of that happening over the last few months we have seen on this game, I am only left with the answer that none of this will happen. But who knows we might get another pointless crime update that adds nothing to the game and distracts us from the current on goings in the game for a brief 5 seconds. We can only live in hope.
