Zeb Leaves Elite Guard AyeAldarion

On February the 16th, Zeb decided to leave the Elite Guard once and for all. The moderator, who had only recently returned to the game after being away for years, decided to leave for several reasons. Although the way he left may not be the best or most professional way, and despite his differences with another staff member, we still feel he deserves credit for the work he has done in his short return as moderator. Zeb was personally responsible for finding ways to track bots and auto-refreshers used by a part of the community. Even though he was often accused of banning without reasons, much of that appeared untrue when he left from the Elite Guard. If it wasn’t for Zeb, several players would still be able to use either refreshers or bots without the Elite Guard ever knowing. We regret the way Zeb left the game, but we want to thank him for the work he has put into Bootleggers.

Zeb left the following message for us:

Quote:
I quit and the choice was completely my own. During my time myself (and other mods but mostly myself) was the subject of a mini hate campaign forged mainly by a small group who I'd managed to stop cheating by repeatedly finding and banning their bots which was something they weren't used to. As with all propaganda, if the masses are repeatedly told a lie it becomes accepted and believed and this hate campaign went that way. I was unable to defend myself or prove myself to those who didn't know what was going on and as a result they only had one side of the story to go by and I don't blame them for believing it.

I was even approached by people I knew who wanted reassurance that what was going on in the forums was a lie and I promised them that when I was no longer a moderator I would show some screenshots that would prove to them once and for all.

I have no ill feeling towards BSF2000, Mika, Sweetie, KamikazeDavid or BL itself. I will not be logging in again - ever. I made that mistake a few months ago. I've always had fun on BL and as is with life, things change. I wish BSF2000 and BL the best for the future.
