Searching for a player

Private investigators can be hired to find the location of another player. This is needed to be able to Whack them.

Once found, the investigator will contact you letting you know the targets location. You will not be updated via bootmail if this player moves city, you will have to track this yourself on the PI page. Each investigator has a different window of time that you are able to whack the target after he or she is found. After that window, the target is lost and will need to be searched for again.

If another player shoots and fails a kill on another player, at the same time you have that same player found, your search will be lost.

If a player has Evasive Manoeuvring, the amount of time required to find them may be more than the time stated on the PI information.

Researching a crew structure

Researching a crew structure is advised before attempting to Whack someone in a crew, otherwise you risk dying in backfire in the case of them being protected in layers. See more information on the Crew page.

When you have the crews structure found, the PI will keep the information current for you while in the window.
