I want to thank ShyHigh for taking over my editor responsibilities last week so that I could take a few days off to settle some personal issues. Since I came out of holiday Thursday I was surprised to see that one of our oldest staff members decided to hang up his green coat and say goodbye for now to the Bootleggers community. Remember, remember the fifth of November, the date that Riserva left Bootleggers as Head Moderator. We at the Buzz want to thank him for the efforts and dedication over the years which surely won’t be forgotten. Don’t let his absence of past months overshadow that which he has done for us, so therefore thank you Riserva.
Sadly, I also have to inform everyone that it is not only Riserva who decided to leave ‘us’ as we at the Buzz also lost two writers this week to that awful decease called real life. We want to thank Stow aka DelPiero (aka StowLovesKoen) and GolderV5 for their dedication to the Buzz and we hope that one day they will return to our wonderful team in blue.
We have witnessed four crew wipes this week by the hand of two players. One big shooting by the hand of TheDude who managed to wipe La Hermandad aka Around The Corner Bar, and another smaller shooting by the hand of KanNogGeenKutDekken who killed the Dead Rabbits and the Glory Boys. After this event the killer of last named crews formed the Fernando Torres Fan Club and we saw Haze Blazers resurface again on the statistics page. Before Stow left he was kind enough to report the Most Wanted shooting by TheDude and has written the piece called ‘Dude, where’s my crew?’
We haven’t got our usual columns by Liliana11 or Voluns5 seeing they are on holiday for the time being, and their contribution is greatly missed in this week’s issue. Last week I was able to publish an encyclopedia article written by DefinitelyNotE in round 5 and some of you enjoyed it so I published another part of his article series for you to read in the Something Old weekly article. What would a Buzz issue be without a proper Behind The Name? CyphaBackBitch has taken it upon himself to do this weekly item and is having a great deal of fun doing it so I hope everyone equally enjoys reading them!
With the departure of a couple of Buzz writers we wish to call upon you, the community, to enter an application for the Bootleggers Buzz to become a fellow blue smurf reporting for the Buzz. We are a nice bunch of guys and girls and we welcome everyone to join us and contribute to the newspaper of our mobster realm.
Enjoy this fine Sunday issue and I wish you all the best.
Riserva Steps Down
After eight years of being part of Bootleggers, from a player to Head Moderator, Riserva hangs up his green coat...
We are going to walk the street of Bootleggers and stop a random passer-by to give an on-the-spot interview. This week, we met FilthyMcNasty. Stepping off the street and in to a bar, we began the interview, which wouldn't end as any normal interview.
Last time we looked at the first inevitable stereotypes Bootleggers has to offer. Now, as there are many more categories not yet defined and/or explored, today we’ll take a look inside the life of a Grammar Nazi, we’ll look at the HDO, and try (and probably fail) to understand the complete idiot.
Another Encyclopedia piece of DefinitelyNotE published round 5 issue 49.
You don't want to read all the articles? You only want to read a small overview of what happened this week? We give you, The Weekly Flash! Here are this week's main stories:
Remember, remember the fifth of November! On the fifth November 2013, Bootleggers witnessed the resignation of the Head Moderator, Riserva. He announced his departure from the Elite Guard by posting on the Game Forum:
We have lost a couple of blue guys over here! GolderV5 and StowLovesKoen will both take a break from the Buzz as of now.
Dude, where’s my crew? Thursday evening saw the spree of one player; one we have seen contribute a spree of their own a few months earlier. This was none other than TheDude, a state don of Most Wanted. This time his spree was aimed at 2 crews who go by the name of Around The Corner Bar and The Evil Breed.
Dead Rabbits and Glory Boys didn’t last long As it was KanNogGeenKutDekken who killed them and created the crew Fernando Torres Fan Club right after.
Congratulations Vancouver! We welcome him as our new Pennsylvania State Don!
